At Michael James Hairdressing, we believe that haircare is not just about the latest trends and techniques, but about creating a personalized experience for each and everyone of our clients. OUR HISTORY
Michael James first opened its doors as The Cutting Corner in Welham Green way back in May 1990 when Michael had just turned 20, then the "first" Michael James opened it's doors in Borehamwood in July 1993 with both salons running together for 3 years. The salon then moved a larger premises with 11 cutting stations, beauty, sunbeds and nails also in Borehamwood in 2005 before being sold in 2008 due to health reasons. Michael then went on to manage at Toni & Guy in Ruislip and work in the main Salon in Covent Garden before coming to St. Albans in 2009 and working at Cutmores until 2019.
THE RETURN
February 13th 2019 was time for the rebirth of Michael James this time as Michael James Hairdressing on Verulam road, concentrating on hair only in a small basement salon with a warm homely feel. The philosophy hasn't changed since the first day of opening, with client customer care and happiness always coming first and foremost. Education and professionalism always comes as standard, with the latest techniques and products on hand to help us look after you in the best way we can.
OUR FUTURE PLANS
Well after over 42 years in the industry and 6 years being back working for myself I'm still in love with the industry and personally want to carry on making clients happy and continuing to grown our customer base and knowledge with constant education. There is also room in the salon for expansion so if we find the right members of staff with our passion and expertise then we would love to welcome them to grow with us.
